GERD REINKE studied Music at the Hamburg Academy. He worked at
the German Opera Berlin, the Academy of Music Berlin and
Bayreuther Festspiele until 1997. Since 1998 he has been living in Cairo
and Berlin as an independent double bass soloist. He has played all over
the world with many orchestras including the Swedish Broadcasting
Orchestra & Radio Hilverson, the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra,
the San Francisco and Cairo Symphony Orchestras and several
German orchestras. He performed a well received series of recitals for
double-bass and piano with the Japanese pianist Noriko Shimizu in
several European countries, the USA, Japan and Egypt. He has been
featured on Radio Zürich and Radio Luxemburg as well as on
German radio and he has appeared on German, Japanese, Egyptian and
American television. He has produced the most double bass CDs world-wide.
